TOPPAN has been providing LSI / ASIC development and design services over the past 40 years.
Its development experiences include wide variety of fields, such as analog, memory, LCD, LED drivers, and microcomputer logic.
As for development of RF and analog mixed signal in particular, TOPPAN prides itself on top class technical know-how in the industry with its accumulated technologies including power circuit, amplifier, high frequency LSI, and system LSI digital mixed macro.

We provide total solution service in response to our customers' specifications, from circuit design to LSI / ASIC prototype and volume production.
For analog technologies, we could offer wireless communication, high-speed transmission, sensor circuits, and power circuits while for digital technologies, we could effectively reduce the power consumption.

Power semiconductor Turnkey Service

We provide turnkey services of power semiconductors where it is difficult to secure wafer manufacturing capacity, for example automotive, industrial equipment, factory automation, and other applications.
In addition to total solution services from design to packaging and mass production, we can also undertake wafer manufacturing.
We also offer porting of wafer manufacturing processes owned by device manufacturers and contract services for partial processing.
Using this service enables a stable supply of a wide variety of small-lot products.

Color Filter and Micro Lens for Image Sensors

Color Filter Arrays

On-chip color filters (color filter arrays and micro-lens array) are essential for colorizing image input devices such as CMOS image sensors and small display devices such as OLEDoS, and are used in a wide range of applications including cameras for smartphone, automotive, security, and medical applications, as well as head mounted displays. Color filter of red, green and blue (RGB) as the primary colors of light or cyan, magenta, yellow and green (CMYG) as the complimentary colors is directly formed on each of the phototransistors generated on a silicon wafer.

Micro-Lens Arrays

The CFA is formed directly on each phototransistor, and atop the CFA is a Micro-Lens Array. These small lens elements perform two functions for the image sensor: enhancing light gathering power and increasing the device sensitivity.

TFT-LCD

The high value-added TFT-LCDs of the "ORTUS" brand called "Blanview" realizes high pixel count, high definition and low power consumption while enhancing outdoor visibility by using HAST® (Hyper Amorphous Silicon TFT) as its core technology, and is adopted for various equipment such as industrial equipment.

Light Control Film “LC MAGIC”

LC MAGIC is an ultra-thin liquid crystal film developed based on TOPPAN's liquid crystal technological achievements accumulated through our display-related businesses. The flip of a switch can transform the film state from transparent to opaque, or vise versa. This innovative product is used in a wide variety of applications, as an alternative to a blind or curtain, or as a digital signage screen. Our lineup is: Normal-Mode film that switches to transparent when power is turned on, and Reverse-Mode film that switches to transparent when power is turned off.

Our new line, LC MAGIC™ Normal Black, offers a sleek dark tint that allows only 5% of visible light to pass through when power is off. TOPPAN aims to launch mass production of Normal Black in 2024, making samples available to the transportation industry, including the automotive, aviation, and rail sectors. 3D ToF Sensor and Camera

Time of Flight (ToF) refers to the time how long it takes for light to be emitted toward an object and reflected back. ToF sensors are used in applications that recognize the shape and movement of objects in three dimensions by measuring the round-trip ToF of light pulse, typically on the order of nanoseconds. The TOPPAN ToF sensor, featuring our proprietary hybrid ToF™, delivers fast and accurate 3D sensing for applications in robotics, logistics, gaming, and security, all demanding advanced depth sensing capabilities.

The 3D ToF camera “C11U” is equipped with “hybrid ToF™“, which combines the short-pulse type indirect ToF method with multi-time window sensor control technology. It is ideal for using safe autonomous navigation of robots in environments such as indoor spaces near windows or stairs, as well as outdoor areas with high traffic of people and objects that are difficult for 2D LiDAR and conventional 3D cameras.
